Lunch with a buddy. Salad plus ice tea and my bill was $28. Next time I will suggest a sack lunch at the park. We are both retired now but in the old days we drank Starbucks every day for coffee break…wish I kept some of those dollars now.
I remember when lattes became popular in the franchised coffee shops and I gravitated to them. Then I wanted an alternative to milk which at the start added 50c to the charge. I now see that it is usually a dollar extra for maybe 2 or three ounces. (96 ounces of almond retails for $5 in my area)
It took about a year to start to face the reality of spending a lot for very little. Bought an espresso maker with a steamer for $30. Now have my latte every morning at my leisure in less time than driving and waiting for the order…at no more than 15% of the cost at the retailer’s.

Is this comic about chemicals in our food? Not sure I get it otherwise.
