I suppose it doesn’t matter where they are right now as they seem to have moved on…or down…

I’m a longtime fan of Endtown, but I’m ready for some resolution to this storyline. The threatened destruction of Eden was over three years ago, and what with all the bouncing around in the meantime, I’ve forgotten much of what was going on then. Was there some reason the world was ending, or did it just start to happen? Duffy’s kid brother had disappeared … because of Topsiders? I vaguely remember other versions of Marx picking up Kirbee and Chic.

Terrence wasn’t from Eden, right? Is he going home there with them anyway? I guess he doesn’t have much of an actual home to go back to.

With Marx’ twisted humor and the way he plays with everyone’s mind, I’m (fairly) sure that his endgame isn’t to put them “exactly” where they started? OR….maybe they will wind up way back BEFORE everything started to come apart?

Classic Marx. Three have a destination. Alan Duffy and Terrance. They could go back to before anything happened. Back to the Lab…back to Eden. Their past is not complicated. Wally however is complicated. There is this place as Cracky pre sun nova and Endtown as Wally. Two lives….two loves. Where’s Wally?

Okay, Marx is back in the “Punch In The Face” category of Jerk again. He was almost out of the category, but nope, he’s still in need of someone to punch him in the face ala Sisko punching Q in the face.

Not back to Eden. It seems to me that Eden is gone. This makes sense since it was in an unnatural pocket made by a group of the Topsiders as an experiment. Kirbee, Chic and Irving(along with a duck character) were apparently removed before destruction. The group of Marx beings seem to be mourning the end of Eden in the 6th strip following this one: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2020/06/18

Annnnnnnd once again Marx leaves us (and maybe himself[?]…if he is indeed scratching his head, in that last panel, at the disappearance of the troop) wondering. Now ain’t that just like himself.

What the heck, Marx?! You say that you’ll get them safely back home, and then you give them the instructions to RUN when they get there. Running away from disaster as soon as they arrive, or running towards friends and loved ones in Endtown as soon as they arrive? Argh!!

That is a good question. Will they all be together, or in separate “universes/existences”? In any other situation, being separated will create something akin to PTSD from losing friends and allies who have experienced a great event together with sudden separation without a chance for a farewell.

The placement of the fences along the road indicates they’re a form of guard rail. The signs on them could be traffic signs.

The way this is shaping up, I wonder if this will be the last arc.BTW, just let me mention my two favorite Transformation comics here again: Out-of-placers https://www.valsalia.com/ UTC https://www.catomix.com/utc/ Endtown is number three on my list. Interesting that my three favorite web comics (or any comics) all involve transformation.

This could be the last colored strip for a while, and maybe the last “big” format one. Only a guess, but if I understand the current narrative (and I might not ), Marx is sending them straight to where they need to go. So, no more detours through Cardòodle dimensions, and no stops at The Crossroads. At least…one could hope so.
