I don’t have agendas anymore, only a few schedules, so I never know if I’m forgetting to do something or not. But then again, there’s always tomorrow if I finally remember it at the end of the day .
I have to go out every other day, at least. At home, in my line of sight, there is always something that needs to be cleaned, moved, repaired, re-ordered, cooked, re-packaged or petted. :)
I still work – very – part time as an accountant – and this was the craziest tax season I have ever dealt with and started when 10 or 12 years old helping my dad with making photocopies and things.
I have 4 tax clients and 1 business client – (plus our return and our business return – which has almost no income) so it should be easy right? Try dealing with client who is in the hospital and the particular state extension form you need to file for her business can only be filed online (and is the ONLY return which must be filed online only) but you can’t file it as you are not her, and if she had access to a computer she still could not file it as she is in her late 80s and does not use a computer… And her personal taxes accountant is upset with ME that he had to prepare an extension for her personal returns as I had not finished the business – she will be mailing me the items I need for same this coming week – I hope.
Another client – I filed an extension for as she sent me their (her and husband) info late. I finished their return over the weekend and went to put it and the papers she had mailed to me to prepare the return in an envelope, address same, add postage to mail it to them today. She had included so many extraneous items – unrelated statements for example – that the envelope was too heavy to mail first class mail. I had to open and toss the manila envelope and split the mailing into 2 manila envelopes – one with the returns and one with the other papers instead!
Then a friend I do taxes for calls late night 2 days before her taxes are due and says “Sorry, but I am leaving tomorrow on a trip to Africa and I need an extension.” Then again, I had only recently mailed her 2019 return for her to file (as she had finally sent me the info for same) as if she did not file it before this year’s due date she would lose her refunds – and she still has not sent me any paperwork for her 2020 or 2021 return yet either.

Not to brag or anything, but I can forget what I’m doing while I’m doing it.

Can’t we please revert to pronouns that make sense? If you like the “they” then simply make the noun “pluggers”. So much less abrasive!

If everything is going well, you must be overlooking something.
