Sounds like me and my ex-wife…

I was once waiting on a railway platform and looked across to see someone that looked really familiar, but I couldn’t for the life of me remember his name. He was looking at me as well with clearly the same thoughts going through his head. We had to fess up and say “Hi, don’t I know you”.

Unless the person is in their familiar place, it’s hard to place them…

“I got it. We were both on Vatnajokull Glacier in Iceland for that arctic cruise.”

I have prosopagnosia (an inborn neurological condition which limits my ability to recognize people’s faces). So I’m like that all the time, even sometimes at the office.

I have failed to recognize old high school acquaintances enough times that I know I need to be up-front and ask both their name and where I know them from.
