I don’t remember the first grade teachers name. 2nd grade teacher, Mrs Roberts I had for the first two months, then transferred to Miss Randalman. Roberts would call me Tom. I refused to answer to it. “My name is Thomas, Tom is a boy cat, do I look like a boy cat?” After this routine for two months I got sent to the principles office. Mom was called. She came in and heard what was happening from the principle. (she already knew, I had told her before) She asked, “What is wrong with calling him by his name if that is what it is and what he wants?” Principle agreed and moved me to the new class.
Typed all that, went to next strip and remembered 1st grade teacher was Mrs Looslie. Her son was same age as me, and we had quite a few classes together after 1st grade.
I remember my first grade teacher all too well. A real harridan. In one of her frequent “huffs,”, she aimed a workbook at someone two rows away and hit the girl sitting in front of me. Thankfully, she was nowhere to be seen the following year.

I’m horrible with names. But some in my past, like elementary school, I can remember. Go figure.
