There is an app that is built into just about every phone that is called “find my phone.” The issue is that you need to “register” the phone on another device.
If you have GPS turned on, it will find it on Google maps. Also it will ring the phone even if you have it silenced.
It also has the capability to lock the phone and/or nuke all information on it.
It’s worth looking this app up.

Never leave your phone on silent calling it is the only way I find mine when I lay it down and forget where at.
