Let’s face it. Eddie wasn’t going to care if you accurately reproduced the sky on his bedroom ceiling. That sky changes, ever so slightly, every night. But spelling out his name – well – duh.
Many moons ago (pun intended), my son had his bedroom done up like a spaceship with some silver furniture and pretend spaceship controls. We also painted the ceiling a very dark blue and I spent ages using illuminous paint to dab on the main constellations and the Milky Way. That way, when he was lying in bed with the lights off, he could look up to a ‘reasonably’ decent approximation to the night sky. He loved it and even learnt a bit about the constellations.

We did that when our boys were little. We even did the underside of the top bunk so the guy on the bottom bunk had his own “sky.” :D
