People will also let themselves (and those around them) go through some pretty bad stuff in order to not hear “I told you so.” Or to do just about anything to avoid admitting that someone else was right and that they were wrong.
When I lived on the Chesapeake Bay our Scottie loved a cold, windy night and would go out the doggie door and sit facing into the wind like she was communicating with spirits of some kind.
When they were predicting record cold, I worried that my doggie door would keep the utility room too cold for my German Shepherd to stay there overnight, so I made a special trip to town, on icy roads, to get a space heater. I set it up and got the room nice and toasty, and when I woke up the next morning, Duke was sleeping happily— on the back deck.

Reminds me why I never want a dog again. Cried when she died, but once was enough.

That’s the way Zack. Teach him a lesson and don’t take him out. By the way, there’s a tightly coiled steaming present for you at the door.

Boston terriers really are quite stubborn! Mine won’t look at me when she’s mad.

I agree on that last past Zack. By the way good eye reaction in panel three!
