I wonder why all the IR Agents are pictured wearing red ties? I thought they hated to be “in the red!”

And as the taxes get bigger, government spending increases faster.

sadly the more government waste – the more taxes needed. someday the populace of the USA might learn this and vote accordingly, but I doubt it. and for sure our “representatives” and I use that term very loosely defined, hope we don’t catch on anytime soon.

Yes that’s what politicians do every year increase taxes, and when they can’t get you to agree with more taxes, they raise the debt ceiling and just borrow more money and spend it anyway on really stupid stuff. We are now ($31.46 trillion) in debt.

Taxation is the “income” our government collects through congressional legislation in order to pay for ALL the services the government provides to its constituency.

The very idea that we can “pay” for what we get from our government by reducing the taxes paid by the wealthy is a ridiculous “pipedream” that has been proven over and over again.

“Trickle Down” economics has never worked and it never will – it is a “scam” foisted on the American public by the republicans to justify the tax breaks given to the wealthy by their representatives in congress…

The REAL reason for republican tax breaks is so republicans can say with justification thar the government “can’t afford” the social safety net the democrats want for the American people.

Well, no tax increase was enacted against the top 1% of plutocracy.

So far since 2020, at least, Republicans have also been unable to further reduce taxes on that minority.

    This is Un-American!

Won’t somebody think of the multi-millionaire/billionaire/100-billionaires and the unfair treatment they receive in the USA?

About 7 years ago I got audited because the company I left sent the IRS my unrevised W-2 (they were so horrible that I left after 2 months and had to pay back the sign-on bonus and 2 months of temporary housing) and I missed a retirement account withdrawal from January and the bank didn’t send me the form 1099. In the end all I had to pay were the fines, which were substantial. I asked for a one-time forgiveness since the W-2 I filed was correct and I had paid taxes on the withdrawal when I took it out. Nope, they didn’t care.
