Bacon!!!

Definitely news of importance to cats!!!

Thy Boys are all in for the bacon. Gotta love Elvis reaching the mic down to the bacon, presumably for a comment? SIZZLE I think that bacon might be hiding something!

The One Classic to Rule Them All!

There are only 2 things my cats love more than bacon: the tuna water from a can when my wife or I make tuna melts and of course catnip.

Bacon is to die for but it is temporarily off the menu with a vegan daughter in the house on summer break from FSU, probably her last summer at home as she graduates next year and then is likely to go to grad school which she has already applied for: FSU, USF (home fave for her parents though I think this is a fall back option for my girl), UGA Athens and USC Columbia, sadly no UA Tuscaloosa… Thus, I am avoiding putting the fatback on the griddle and trying to adapt to a healthier diet as my wife and Amy both think my 140-90 blood pressure needs to come down a tad which means no high fat and high sodium content foods which sadly includes bacon, fried plantains and other salty snacks and so on…..

Ah, the first newspaper Sunday strip. I think I have a paper copy somewhere.

OT My elderly Siamese, Motley has been eating well lately. A couple nights ago we had lamb chops and she got on the table, We had to scrape all remaining meat out of the bones, and she gobbled it up. Next night we had halibut cheeks and she is loving those for breakfast. I’m glad to see her taking an interest in eating, not sleeping!

Best sandwich is bacon on toast, slathered with mayo and covered in thin sliced home grown vine ripened tomatoes. Hold the lettuce, please.

Is their favorite bedtime story The Three Little Pigs? Mine want me to stop after the second pig loses to the wolf. Monroe keeps asking if the wolf had bacon that evening. Achilles just asks for ham.

Ah how lovely, in the 4th panel we have bacon sizzling in the pan and with a sprinkling of cat hair for flavor and texture. Yum…Yum.

Loaner Cat likes neither bacon or ham. But she’ll take the chicken right off my plate if I’m eating in front of the TV. Same with tuna. She will not however eat anything I offer her if I’m cooking, in the kitchen, no matter what it is. She’s an odd duck…

Love this strip!

OT: Mouse is letting me handle each kitten for a couple of minutes at a time. I just pick them up, hold them and pet them and put them back. Then I give her some cuddles.

Love this one! I feel the same about bacon. Eat all of it!

Question about the three boys being so close to the frying pan sizzling – our family cat was never interested in cooking bacon or ham but loved to beg for it while family was eating in dining room – wouldn’t one be afraid that as the oil woud sizzle and pop – might a bit of that oil inadvertently hit a cat especially if you didn’t have one of those fine net covers or a glass/metal cover for the skillet? Particularly considering how close Elvis is in panel three and Lupin is in panel four?

Strangely, our cats don’t do this for bacon. They do it for tuna though.

Oh yes, I’m reminded again that turkey bacon is a thing. I should get some.

Lupin is definitely in the best bacon snatching position, so perhaps Puck and Elvis are just distracting the Woman. That assumes that once Lupin snatches he will share. After all, sharing is caring, and sharing your bacon means you care the most.

Of all the cats that have shared my life only two were bacon fiends. Captain Longshanks will still get his slice of bacon (actually about 1/4 square inch) any time I cook some for myself.
