This morning, as my dog and I started our walk, we saw a daddy wild turkey and a mommy wild turkey walking on my neighbor’s yard, heading towards their backyard. I took a picture, once I was pretty sure they weren’t going to give us grief for just walking down the street. Usually we just see multiple males who were probably kicked out by the Big Daddy turkey. I didn’t see any babies with the couple this morning, so they must already be grown and the two appeared to be checking out their new neighborhood. Anyone know where wild turkeys sleep?
In Portland, Oregon during the month of September, several thousand Swifts fly down a 100 foot chimney of an old school building to roost for the evening. They start about a hour before dusk and approach the chimney in waves. It’s very cool and draws scores of people who sit on a lawn and watch.

Arden, be careful Don’t look too closely down the chimney, you might find yourself there and can’t get out.

“Satisfaction brought it back”. If Arden did get hurt, would that be a soot and battery?

I joke that I have a separate curiosity gland from most people. It is quite active most days.
