Our garden is spreading. We have flowers all over the place.
I can understand this. We have a “pollinator friendly” yard and the wind and the birds and the bees do their part in spreading seeds.
What I cannot comprehend is how plants such as tulips and irises can wind up on the other side of the yard. The last time I checked, those plants propagate by bulbs, and while the beds tend to “spread out” they can’t jump a 100 feet.
I live a very charmed life. God has bestowed on me more blessings than any man deserves to the point where I experience a version of “survivors guilt” – “Why am I so blessed while others suffer?”
So my question to the big guy was, “Couldn’t you have spread these blessing around more evenly?”
His response to me was, “That’s why YOU … were born.” I guess I got my “marching orders.”
Spread more than just The Word. Plant a crop of blessings.
Fill your seed bag with your love. You will find out that no matter how far you walk scattering this seed, the bag will never get empty. I will leave it to you to figure out who is refilling the bag.
I remember when I was 3 years old having to help uproot as many morning glories as possible, because they had spread throughout the yard. They were not only choking the garden, but even crowding out the grass.
Even now, I don’t believe that that was meant as a lesson “from God”, but it does affect my view of Leo’s metaphor.
