Real car mechs who get down and dirty don’t wear white shoes, for good reason.

What a dirtbag.

I’ve always hated breaking in new shoes. The pain I had to endure before they were finally “molded” to my feet—OW!!

Gordon, are you trying to clean your sneakers or turn them black?

As I mentioned yesterday, my granddaughter as well as other girls now wear sneakers (not black ones) with their prom dresses foe easier dancing. (The guys do not wear tuxes.)

Shoe dye.

My daughter has trouble wearing dress shoes due to a (long story short) medical foot problem. She found some cute black Sketchers that worked perfectly. (None of the girls at her prom wore sneakers.)

Gordon is so resourceful.

Good old Gordon, making do with what he has without remorse or regret. A young man who knows himself who will go far in life.

Sure it will. Just get them dirty enough to be black and you’re good to go.

Been to any proms lately?

I don’t think we had a ‘formal attire’ prom in HS but it may just be that I ignored it as being unable to afford the clothes.

I remember while in the Navy onboard a ship, standing OOD watch in port, telling the Messenger Of The Watch who reported for duty wearing deck shoes (tennis shoes) that had been coated with black shoe polish to go below and come back wearing black oxfords.

Mike tells Gordon he rented his tuxedo yesterday, but those of us familiar with tuxedo rental, know that in order to rent a tuxedo, you have to go to a store and get fitted, which is not what happened yesterday. Yesterday, Elly brought in a tux, dragged Michael away from the TV and dressed him in a fancy tuxedo with pearl tuxedo studs.

In other words, Elly bought Mike a tuxedo and Mike does not want to show off the wealth gap between him and Gordon.

Hope Mike has a pair he can lend Gordon
