It helps when you are near or when you walk by (or even when I just think about you) to feel Close to You.

My high school friend I call “The King of Prog Rock.” He made me listen the things like Pete Sinfield’s “Song of the Sea Goat” and Rick Wakeman’s “Six Wives of Henry VIII.” Bacharach would have been a nice change, but it was a long way from Bacharach.

I’m with Mrs. Spaetzle. My sweet blue-eyed girl and I enjoyed generations of music from our separate beginnings in the 30’s. Bix, Louis Armstrong, Peggy Lee, Brubeck, Byrd, Etta, Nat King Cole, Jobim, Aretha, Art Baker, MJQ, Patsy Cline, Bacharach, Alpert, Dionne, Calloway, Cher, Sinatra, Allen Toussaint, so many others. The list is endless and we feel very privileged to have experienced them.

I decided early on in life that I wasn’t going to be one of those guys who hates everything recorded after I turned 25. I’m 47 now and I’m still finding new and interesting music.

    .

Anyone who wants to tell me how modern music is all bad should instead spend your time calling your parents and telling them you’ve become them, just like they always said you would.

There are a couple videos on Youtube of rap enthusiasts listening to AC/DC (specifically Thunderstruck), they are surprised how much they dig it.
