Cats differ. After I came back from a one-month business assignment, one of my cats followed me around and meowed affectionately for half an hour. We couldn’t find the other cat for an hour. He finally came out from under the house, yawned at me and gave me the “Oh, it’s you” look.
Of course, two hours later he couldn’t wait to go for a walk through the neighborhood with me. :)
