They should do this under anesthesia because it is painful and they need to check inside the mouth to make sure the quills aren’t entering the nasal cavity or eye socket via the roof of the mouth.

I was walking on a trail in Tanzania when I came across a pink, blue, and purple lizard toy someone had dropped in the middle of the trail. My kids had one just like it when they were little. I remembered that because it was so garishly colored. I bent over to pick it up to remove it from the trail…and it ran off down the trail. It was alive! When I returned to camp I told the guide that I had seen a pink, blue, and purple lizard. He just said “It was an agama. They are common around here.”

Little irony to this comic since the Chia Pet’s creator passed away a couple of weeks ago.

“Joseph Pedott, entrepreneur who sparked Chia Pet craze, dies at 91.He also popularized the Clapper, a gadget used to turn an appliance on or off with a forceful clap.”

Porcupines are very easy-going. But they need their personal space.
