I say we put trick questions on the ballots. An extra candidate with a cool name who’s not even running. If you vote for that one it shows you did no research on the election and you ballot is tossed. Or a question for a office that doesn’t exist with 4 made up names.
Josh Matlow, one of the numerous candidates in the Toronto mayoralty election, apparently said yesterday that he wants to make the city “safe, more affordable and livable”. Great statement. I wonder if any of the other candidates has come out with a stated position against this. :)
I don’t vote for candidates. I vote against candidates. Nobody running I particularly want but one will most surely win. I try to hinder the (in my opinion) worst. A small conceit but it helps me sleep.

They pay attention to non-voters? Why?

Elect someone to take the blame … that sounds about right.

That’s because you don’t keep the promises you made to the voters.

The art of tickling ears is a requirement for those who opt to go into politics.

Just do the job you promised to do when you ran for office and knock off the nonsense.

As a resident of the Washington area, I get tired of people who complain about “Washington,” when they really mean the people they sent here.

Who would have thought we elected them to solve problems vs. creating problems.

Be careful what you vote for, you might get it…

Then the people re-elect you again. It’s a vicious circle.
