Kate – Don’t you know that there is no box too small for a cat. They will immediately jump in when it is opened and before you have had a chance to get the contents out.
After we lost our dog, I bought the cats a bunch of the smaller scale cat toys. They were batted around with glee for an afternoon and haven’t been seen since. I am guessing under the refrigerator.
My cats love the cardboard cat traps as well. Many cats do. That and paper bags. We have a tunnel that rustles like a bag. Bear has been known to hide in it.
I had a couple of shallow boxes I used to keep for catnip. I would sprinkle in some catnip and whatever cat got there first would roll in it. I had three cats at the time. Eventually I had two catnip boxes.
In the wild, small cats, Pallas Cat, Scottish wildcat, Ocelot, and others, are both predator and prey. A box lets the cats hide and feel safe and secure and is a perfect spot for jumping out and ambushing their prey. Or some unwitting human’s ankles causing the human to drop his lunch plate of freshly grilled salmon steak and make off with a quick lunch, but leaving the veggie kebab and bread behind.

Save yourself time and money. Just get boxes for the kitties.

Exactly. This happened just last week. The large box was well loved by two cats. Not so much the other stuff. LOL

Just buying a box would have been much cheaper and simpler, but who could know!

Yep, that’s a cat for you. I have several empty boxes I can’t get rid of because the cats would kill me in my sleep.

Leave it long enough, and Floof will HAVE to check it out! Hopefully.

They are happy just with a box. I love this so much.

For a moment there, I thought this cat tree included a coffee maker
