The old school houses have huge windows usually on the south side that let in a lot of light so the students could see what they were reading and righting.
Anyone remember Fire Drills? I’m so old we also had Nuclear Bomb Drills. At the instructions of our teacher we were to Duck And Cover under our desks. We would have to sit there with our hands over our heads as the teacher went around and inspected that we were doing it properly. I was always uncomfortable with this Drill. Because… every classroom (in every school) I went to had one whole wall that was a window. If there WAS a Nuclear Attack… that wall would suddenly become raining death. Not just from the radioactive damage… but because of all that glass.
I went to school in the 1960’s without air conditioning, Catholic school, polyester uniforms, remember sitting behind boys noticing their hair soaked with sweat/

@markkahler52- Right. In this society, we always complain about not having any shoes until we see the person who’s paraplegic.
