In my experience, cats teach themselves tricks sometimes. One of mine would flush a toilet over and over and over just to watch the water swirl down. I have no idea how she figured it out, but she didn’t do it if the seat was down and she couldn’t watch the water. Another one fetched hair bands and also trained two wild beagles to sit in front of her and not move. I couldn’t do that. I guess she had more time and determination, all 8 lbs of her.

Cats don’t learn they already know and just choose when they want to ignore or not.

Floof could teach you a few moves when you’re not looking.

My Simon wouldn’t do that if his life (or mine) depended on it!

One of ours has learned to open the closet door where their cat treats are stored. She then come over to me as if to say “Well? You’re up!”
