Irving: Skinny leg stretch jeans are ridiculous! Cathy: You have to take them back, honey. Irving: Who would wear jeans like this? I wanted nice, normal, basic jeans made for a regular, honest, hard-working, down-to-earth, straight-forward, no nonsense kind of guy! Cathy: Just take those back! Irving: What will I pretend is wrong with them??

How about “They don’t fit!”

It is very hard for one of us males to bring something back and admit we made a mistake. I can hear the PA. “Manager to returns! Some jerk doesn’t know his own size!”

Yes, Irving, they make jeans like that but what you need is jeans made for a selfish, whiny, self-indulgent, superficial, drama-queen kind of guy.

Maybe if Irving could READ he’d know what kind of jeans he was buying in the first place!!

Size has little to do with this case. It’s all about the cut of the jeans.

Not only has my husband had to switch to “loose fit” jeans but his beloved 40 year-old (almost) college sweatshirt finally bit the dust this summer.

Happy Birthday also Cathy Guisewite, my husband saw your birthday in our local paper. Unfortunaely your strip does not appear in our local paper. When did Irving get so fat. My own husband over 25 years ago was fairly slim for a tall man, not anymore and he does not drink hard stuff; although I wonder if coffee is hard stuff. For me I won’t even wear those types of jeans not with my body.

Stone Soup strip is going through this too. My husband usually gets his own clothes when we have the money. Me I have to sacrifice a little. Although I wish my son was able to get work, he has clothes, find someone and move on with his life. With Cathy it’s her in-laws she contends with.

How about “I didn’t realize they were skinny cut. I’d like to exchange them for regular cut.” Sigh…it really is that simple but I’d be nervous as well
