I have figures of bird dogs that are formed like that.

You don’t see them very often because crazy women lead them into there car’s back seat with a bag of puppy kibble they keep in their trunks in case they ever see any age dog or puppy without a collar on it and no other human around.

Could today’s Off the Mark hint at a possible explanation of this?

The dog part is doubtful.

Ok, THAT one made me laugh out loud. As Clouseau would say, “Gude wun!”

To me, it should be phrased more like “dog-bird”, but I get that saying it like that doesn’t help the joke

Is it’s bark worse than its flight?

This reminded me of Yubaba.

My dog tried to swallow another dead bird yesterday. This time I won. Maybe this is how we end up with dog/birds. Absorption. So far, no signs of feathers on my dog. Just a disappointed look.
