I have tried leaving a comment this morning including the International Chili Society’s rules for chili verde. Every single one has told me that my comment contains banned word(s). For all intents and purposes, any and all meats are allowed. Just no beans or pasta. GoComics’ nannybots are out of control.
Nothing wrong with using turkey for chili instead of beef. It depends on the type of chili, really. And how it is served. I would share my secret recipe, but it is secret, and involves jalapenos, and picante sauce.
It’s about time you learned your lesson, Punk! REAL chili is made with pure beef chunklets, No turkey! No beans! You got that, City-boy? You probably eat canned chili bought in the supermart anyway. Prepare to meet your fate!

With the natives’ available livestock, original recipe probably had shredded turkey.

Ground chicken is okay, though. Just not all poultry.

…Aldi has a ground turkey English-muffin frozen breakfast sandwich…
…that is almost as bad as Walmart’s…
…which is as terrible as Jimmy Dean’s…
…the faux meat frozen English-muffin is acceptable, if you can find it…
…as for the chili…
…it depends on the beans and flavoring ingredients redients…
…I used to crumble saltines into my chili until I had more of a chili paste…
…that’s back when they had individually owned truck stops…
…you could try the various chili recipes…
…with a side order or various types of onion rings…
..but, now, the mom & pop truck stops are mostly gone…
…and when I made my paste from my wife’s chili …
…she cried…
… you didn’t even taste it first…
…you just went ahead and ruined it…
…so now I soup up my turkey chili with a non compassionate smile…
…while eating a franchise burger…
…with powdered onion style rings…
…knowing…
…knowingly …
…these are my people…
…and this is my food…
… and no one’s going to take my Kodachrome away…

IMHO, ground turkey, or any other ground meat product makes it a soup. Chili requires the meat be diced and cooked before adding it to the stew. YMMV.

It’s not the combo that’s lethal, it’s the beans added that gives it a real one-two punch…ooooooafff
