I like Wally/Cracky’s enthusiasm, but I wonder what lives there are to save? The Marx crew removed a number of people of “significance” to some unknown location while Wally and the others were on their odyssey into unknown realms. Now that they are back, who or what remains? As the anthro Eden officials noted to themselves , they understood that they were merely background filler, and if the primary characters (like Wally, Duffy, Ala, etc.) were starting to grasp what was going on, the filler characters were going to need guidance as to how to handle that new situation (August 30, 2019). The problem is, the topsiders running the Eden experiment (presumably the providers of potential guidance) are now all gone. And since the other anthros aren’t running anything anymore, is Wally/Cracky going to try to rescue them and take them somewhere? And if so, where? Ravenscroft’s apartment and its map? The beach and possibly that voice recorder? A ditto-generated interdimensional construct?
I checked back a few years and this Wally has the part in his hair on the opposite side from before. I know it’s a small detail, but that’s another difference from the “old” Wally.
Terrence seems to be recovering from his multiple shocks. “Depend upon it, sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully.” – Samuel Johnson
In the comic, Cracked’s plans always fail. But that’s because he was up against them miserable meeses. Wonder how a combination of Cracked’s Rube Goldberg designing and Wally’s mechanical engineering turns out.
Aaron, thank you for a strip that I always look forward to reading. Just about every one of them is a cliffhanger. Now I’m looking forward to finding out why you had them sent here.
