Funny. All my waitresses ask me if I’m ready to order first. I suppose she’s new at the job. On a slightly different topic. What ever happened to Sizzler Steak House? That was my go to for a celebratory meal.
I had a friend who took forever to order. I could see her mentally sampling every dish on the menu. She was a starving young actress. It was understood she would order four meals and I would help her carry the leftovers out. :)
Waiter/waitress 2 minutes after you open the menu and are still staring at the first page: “Are you ready to order yet?” – “Uh, no. Give me 5 minutes.” Then watching same waiter/waitress walk past you 20 minutes later after your menus have been sitting on the table for so long you’ve already forgotten what sides you wanted with your entrée.

Here’s a tip for you waitress, if they are still reading the menu, they aren’t ready to order. It also sounds like your meter is running.
