Phone: RING RING Cathy: Oh, please...cancel! Please be calling to cancel! I have 10,000 things to do today!! It was insane to plan lunch with you a week before Christmas! I don't have time! If you cared about me, you'd spare me the guilt and say that you don't have time!! If you had a shred of decency, you'd flake out! Please! Dump me! Bail! It's December 17, for crying out loud! I don't have time to sit around chatting!! Irving (from phone): Hi, Cathy. Um...I can't make it today. Cathy: Nothing like the holidays to remind us why we love our friends.

I expected her to be disappointed, in contradiction to her own thoughts. Cathy is like that.

I can totally relate… how sad!

That was me on the phone, by the way. I called her to see if I could make her flake out. Ahhhh, the simple pleasures of my life.
Morning Susan. I was on late last night too. It was nice to actually make good progress on this site. It’s slow today, again.
Morning lightenup after church. Later than usual for me since Billy and I went out to breakfast. It’s just past 10:00 a.m. We won’t see Mom! today since she’s going to GsGramma’s.
Hi all fellow Cathyites. :-D

Actually now closer to 11:00. I edited my comment above because I messed up some minor formatting yet again. Living one-eyed in a two-eyed world kinda bites.

Yes, you are very lucky, Cathy. And hopefully you don’t love your friends just because they dump you when it serves your purpose. That’s messed up…Good morning, Susan, Nancy and AaronClaus! @Nancy – I can relate sometimes also. Sometimes I accept things because they sound great at the time and I haven’t really thought about what else will be going on later. But, unlike Cathy, I will tell my friends the truth and ask if we can postpone.@AaronClaus – Don’t worry about your formatting… it’s only Billy who teases you, not us. He should close one eye and put on sunglasses (or someone else’s prescription glasses) while he posts, and see how he likes it. :-bHello to gmforde (you do know what a contradiction your name is, right? GM vs. Ford? My car lover side coming out…), Billy, KFG and all the other Cathy nuts that roll around here today!Hi GsMom! Thanks for asking about me yesterday… Things have actually gotten worse. To make a very long story short, I’m on the board for our neighborhood, and we are split (3-2) over a very minor issue. The problem is that 2 are being pretty irrational over this and it has turned from annoying to downright uncivil and stressful. I am talking to the president this afternoon to see what we’re going to do about it. Personally, I’m ready to quit because of the things that have been said, and unfortunately the worst of the 2 is my immediate neighbor. :-( On a friendlier note, I hope you had a nice visit with your mom! :-)

A saying that my mom has has risen to the surface re: Cathy—we sometimes cause our own misery. True and Cathy should realize that her friends are the only saving grace from her insantiy.
Susan you’re right. Please forgive our friend. He’s not into pity and I kindly reminded him it’s only 13 days since surgery. He’ll be fine. He’s going back to work at the beginning of the year. He’s thankful for that, and the moments he’s in.
Remember those moments too lightenup. If it gets to be too much, step back. Stressing out is not healthy.

Cathy IS crazy nuts!! I wouldn’t mind if a friend called me and wanted to go out, even if I was busy (and not at work)…btw , who do you guys think was on the phone? Irv?……yeah i think so too…….@ Aaron—-did you happen to see the Ziggy comic from Dec. 17? It made me ‘LOL’ and think of not only you but all the other firefighters I know.
