I remember South Park when this happened, LOL! I don’t doubt that is what would happen in real life. Heck, half my stuff runs on WiFi.

Other than GoComics and Amazon books I don’t think I would miss the internet at all

As a teacher that started in BC, before computers. They told us it would make short of paperwork. HA HA! In those early days, I wrote spreadsheets for gradebook record keeping, SS for the school to keep book inventory straight, data bases for senior obligations for graduation. And the computer industry was changing so rapidly that I felt like a doctor try to keep up on all the latest discoveries. Plus teach 6 periods a day with 40-45 students in my classes, plus my coaching. Yes I retired after 33 years. Now my state retirement e-mailes want me to volunteer my time.

Well, you might be able to go back, but remember to get up a earlier to saddle your horse and ride 25mph to work and back. Every day. And all that that entails.

I found life to be a lot more enjoyable back then. The government couldn’t spy on us so easily.

    Ok Boomer.

Problem is, expectations/demand moved as fast or faster than the computers.

People who didn’t mind waiting a couple of days for an answer now want it within a day or even an hour.

When I was young, you send a letter on Monday and were lucky to have a reply on Friday.

Friday evening, storms rolled through here and knocked the power out. Not being able to use my PC was annoying. Finally got it back after 15 hours.

I have mixed feelings about that. The internet connects me to people I otherwise never see.
