MLS is making the same mistake the old NASL did in pinning all their hopes on Pele and what MLS did earlier in pinning all their hopes on David Beckham. Don’t be too surprised if MLS folds a few years after Messi retires. Then we can truly focus on Americal’s REAL national pastime—baseball! At least someone scores in baseball, unlike in soccer, which usually ends in a 1-0 snoozefest.
I appreciate the skill of soccer, but I find the game rather simplistic, which makes it rather dull to me. The simplicity may make it “universal”, however.
