Less is more.

Frida is close to being one-eared. I’ve been monitoring her one bigger ear for at least a couple of years (I think) and it’s one light breeze away from joining Ziggy’s pants in NowhereLand.

Zippy (the pinhead) also wears no pants, but he already has a wife. At least part of the time.

Donald Duck never wore pants and nobody ever got their knickers in a twist about it. Perhaps because they were going commando themselves?

Louise Belcher looks up to Frida, idolizes her. Frida tries not to think less of people who wear pants. So far, she has gone two hundred days without an industrial accident.

The best thing you can say about Ziggy is you’ll definitely know what you’re getting if you plight your troth with him. It’s also the worst thing.

I don’t think this is about Frida or Ziggy.

I think this is a vague but brutal takedown of certain genitalia-less cartoon characters who shall remain nameless.*

Dickless was a Seattle-based grunge band signed to Sub Pop records in 1990. Dickless is notable for their unique raspy/screamy vocal style. During their first few years, their loud and abrasive sound was new and unusual for an all-female music group. Simultaneously, their short discography included song titles and a song cover, “I’m a Man” by Bo Diddley, that were blatantly ironic given their abrasive sound and female members. The band name itself is meant to be satire. The group’s period of activity coincided with the emerging “Riot grrrl” music culture.

Frida is a very sensible young hand-puppet, and wants us to know that she is broad-minded and unbiased, too (though her disclaimer may be protesting a bit much).

On the other hand (so to speak), I could not find Ziggy, pants or none, in the least bit appealing nor at all marriageable! To put it another way, I do not read the Ziggy comic strip. So, I guess I agree with and support our very own FA’s Frida!

I know about Donald Duck, Scott Myer and Ziggy - who am I missing?
