Oh the double standard, imagine the strident outcry if the roles were reversed

Well, she is making batter.

This appears to be a split decision between whether she has a sense of humor and she does not have a sense of humor — today it looks like a yes.

While her brain perhaps doesn’t always get the punchline she couldn’t stop her body to deliver it…

Sort of like the old joke when I was a kid “Want a donut, then after you get smacked in the arm ‘Hurts don’t it’”!

My bride and I don’t believe in “slap play”. We have watched too many friends get into real fights after a “playful punch” went too far.

Maybe they’re just not funny, Earl!

His jokes are too low brow, maybe that’s why she doesn’t laugh.

I frequently have trouble figuring out why a joke is supposed to be funny. It’s been a problem most of my life.

In the long-running war between my wife and Alexa, my wife asked, “Alexa, can’t you tell us some better jokes?” Alexa replied, “Yes, but they would go over your head!”

I notice it’s no longer pc to refer to “older people “ but now must say “older adults.” What’s up with that ? Is calling someone a person ageist?

Get the joke, eh?

Having to explain punch lines takes all the fun out of telling jokes.

Maybe he just tells bad jokes, or doesn’t tell any joke well.

I quit telling the wife jokes years ago. It wasn’t worth the fight.

Reminds me of an old commercial:

Punchy: Hey how about a nice Hawaiian Punch?

My dad would be 111 yrs old if he was still alive. He never got humor or a joke of any kind in his life.

Must be a punch bowl.

Pearl’s sense of humor gets the better of Earl two days in a row.

I knew a young man who was abused by his wife to the point where he tried to take his own life. He was built like the “90 pound weakling” and his wife was every bit as bigger and bossier and more physical than Tugboat Annie. The attempted suicide was grounds for him to lose his security clearance.

Yep, women are too weak not to abuse that (Zsazsa Gabor, I think). But on the other side, they’re very good at shopping.

Humor is often rooted in current, even momentary, culture. If you’re older you may not be tuned into it.
