C’mon Mildred!
Both robots in the competition are based on HAL 9000 from 2001:A Space Odyssey.
The conversation at the competition goes like this,
North Elementary’s Robot:
“Mildred. What are you doing. Mildred? Just what do you think you are doing, Mildred?”
Mildred proceeds to push the Super Speed Button, in order to decimate the North Elementary Robot.
Then Mildred’s own Magnet School Robot proclaims:
“I’m sorry, Mildred. I’m afraid I can’t do that.”
