The cook was giving everyone ptomaine, so Jeff gave him lead poisoning!

When we had a cook in the Army, I thought he was pretty good. In basic, AIT and tank school I had no complaints. In fact tank school had excellent cooks

I pretty much agree. I never had one who was excellent like say Guy Fieri, but they di a good job of turning good ingredients into good food for hungry young men. The Army standard was “an acceptable product,” and I’d say the cooks always exceeded that. But as I say, we were hungry!

We had a really great cook at one unit I was at in Korea. Then the Brigade Commander came to visit, he really complimented our cook, then had him reassigned as his personal cook

I was in the Marines during the Sixties and sometimes C-rations were better than the stuff in the mess hall.

Which war? The First or Second?

Thought he was going to say, by not enlisting.
