I’ve always wondered about that in real life—a Saturday “detention”…what teacher would come in on Saturday and volunteer for that, as this wouldn’t be a paid day.
It didn’t happen when I went to school. …and I didn’t hear about this practice from my kids.

I know of course the Breakfast Club but it always confused me as a teen—none of my schools had weekend detentions… (At least that I knew of)
