Very good artwork on Rover today. We see him stick one ear up in the second panel, we see him with his tongue out in hopeful anticipation in the fourth panel and we see him roll his eyes upwards in the fifth panel. Rover’s different expressions in the fourth and fifth panels are especially good.
One word, Defiant ! My Rugby, would give me a quick look, then go back to doing something much more important, sniffing deer poop. What was I thinking, ha.
If your dog/cat is ignoring your voice more than usual, go behind them and snap your fingers or something like that. If they don’t respond, they could be losing their hearing. I don’t think this is Rover’s problem, of course. My dog seems to have a slight new hearing loss. My last dog slowly went totally deaf, and I had a cat also go deaf. It puts them at more risk, especially if outside without a leash. I do little hearing and vision checks on my pets on a fairly regular basis.
Simple Red ………… selective hearing …… like when your Mother wants you to do something …………. of course when food is involved, it’s a different story ….. :)

If they can’t see you, then they can’t hear you. That’s what my golden told me.

It’s selective hearing Red, and you weren’t selected!

For the same reason you don’t always come the first time your mom calls, Red!

Yeah Rover. Dogs are supposed to come when they’re called. Cats take a message and get back to you later.

Depends, is his Mom calling him b/c it’s time to eat, or b/c it’s time to do chores, take a bath, go to bed…..

“Popsicle Pete”… LOL. Rover hears him, but maybe too busy chasing a squirrel to come immediately.
