Is it just me or is Kat’s reason for a haircut not making any sense?

I am not sure if this is a good idea Kat but if you must do not go overboard. Why not wait until detention is over and then go to a hair stylist? Also, if the kids are still on detention, won’t they get in additional trouble by hanging out in the ladies’ room for a long time? Perhaps the teacher or staff member assigned for this Saturday is holed up in her office watching You Tube or TikTok, maybe even reading their favorite strip on GoComics!

No, she doesn’t know what’s best for her, but if she wants to learn the hard way, then go ahead!

For a decision like that, always sleep on it first. One day won’t make much of a difference if you decide to cut it, but it will make a huge difference if you change your mind!

No, she doesn’t Most kids of that age think they need to change everything about them, but they don’t.

I think the cutting symbolizes Kat exercising agency over her life, which is why she wants to do it herself. Going to a stylist isn’t the same, since someone else would be doing the act. Also, Kat is just cutting dead cells, not self-amputating a limb. Her hair will regrow no matter how short she cuts it.

Okay. Let’s go with the symbolic haircut and then see how Heart will react seeing that Kat didn’t ask her to cut her hair.
