My wife and I never thought we would end up being the old couple that needed help moving. Yet, here comes a crew with the pickup trucks and done moving in one day. Throughout my working career there was always help to be had when word got out of a move, hay needing bucked, tree down, etc. We looked out for one another. Later on the younger group of workers were, “Whats in it for me?” I actually saw a bumper sticker on their rigs that read, Yes this is my truck. No I won’t help you move.

Amen to that! I hate AI! It’s replaced receptionists and customer service. Take Amazon for instance. I’m in a rural area where cellphones don’t always work, yet it tries repeatedly to get you to allow them to send your approval in a text no matter how many times you say no! It drives me nuts and wastes my time.

My neighbor across the street, though not a Plugger, (we live in a younger neighborhood close to schools) came over promptly when ask to help me move our newly built entertainment center base off the saw horses in my shop and into the family room. Asked if it’s going upstairs and I said no, it will stay forever down here since it is so heavy. He came back with “Not really, let me know if you change your mind”. Now I know I’m old.
