During a classics superhero movie marathon with one of uncles, he had a similar question for baby Superman in the 70s movie. I guessed kryptonite surgical equipment.
You know what’s funny? I had to look up the question online when I wrote this cartoon- just to see what was already out there about Supergirl’s earrings (she does, occasionally, get drawn with earrings). I found online conversations that look a LOT like today’s comment section!

Either she had them pierced before coming to earth, or she uses magnetic clip on earrings.

A super villain built a red sun chamber to rob her of her powers
After escaping and defeating him she used the room to make herself vulnerable enough to get her ears pierced, then destroyed it
Makes as much sense as anything else I could come up with

We’re not supposed to question things like that. When reading the comics you have suspend belief.
