That’s what happens when your awkward and shy and that age. You force “confidence” and do something stupid.

He wasn’t really stupid. He just didn’t have all the facts. Dean was right, you have to have confidence, but you also need to think things through, use your manners & listen to the person you’re asking. He just fumbled & bumbled, which is perfectly understandable at his age.
