As one who has hearing aids, I would suggest to others who have (or should have) hearing aids that we don’t wear them for ourselves, we wear them for others so they don’t have to put up with our endless “Huh?” and “What?”, etc.
My mom got recruited in her 80s and 90s as a non speaking model and extra. She had an agent and was SAG. She did the ESPN magazine, a geriatric paramedic manual and was a West Wing extra (the funeral scene) Her take home per day was more than my pension.

I hate those things, they make my ears itch. And I have long hair so it’s a constant swish swish.

My wife just started wearing them. Finally. And it’s great. I find that I talk half as much!
