I think any of my 4 dogs would be better drivers than many human drivers if they could drive. They are scary smart. Good thing they don’t have opposable thumbs.

Watching car crashes online. I have to agree, people are in a hurry and just do whatever they feel like doing and then smash up. Some are trying for insurance fraud by faking rear end crashes. Dash Cams are putting a stop to that. Glad I have one. Red lights, stop signs and the like are only suggestions to many people. Tip: Left turns are dangerous. I hear UPS discourages them for that reason.

Yesterday I honked my horn at a guy who ran a stop sign. He just waved at me. I think he was waving.

It’s more inconsiderate and selfish than stupid.

No, there are ‘stupid’ as well. The number of times I see SUV drivers straddling lanes – even on single carriage roads. One lane is not enough for them and don’t recognise that a car coming the other way will crash into them if they don’t do something to fix it – which is usually left to the last second after they finally cotton on to the problem

In a society that so fervently worships the automobile, it’s extraordinary that so many people are completely devoid of skill behind the wheel.

The dog and I walk a walking/bike trail next to a pretty major road in town. We have to cross side roads at a couple of different intersections. It is alway amazing to notice how many are looking at their phones while driving, roll through stop signs, and go on red lights when there is no cross traffic.

Yesterday, due to a shooting, the police were routing drivers down a one way street that included bike lanes, in the wrong direction, and the drivers were speeding. When police were approached to ask them to remind the drivers to slow down, the response was, “I can’t do that, I’m trying to keep traffic moving.” Police can not multitask.

Which is why I want to have bike lanes separated off the streets. Pretty much the same share of idiots there, but at least way less dangerously armed.
