“An intellectual came to check in on a friend who was seriously ill. When the man’s wife said that he had ‘departed,’ the intellectual replied: ‘When he arrives back, will you tell him that I stopped by?’ "
When an intellectual was told by someone, “Your beard is now coming in,” he went to the rear-entrance and waited for it. Another intellectual asked what he was doing. Once he heard the whole story, he said: “I’m not surprised that people say we lack common sense. How do you know that it’s not coming in by the other gate?”
Reminds me of an episode of Canadian TV show corner gas.A character Hank is trying to open his lock with a coat hanger due to locking his keys in his truck.
Davis the police officer asks Hank if he is trying to break into his own truck, Hank responds that he locked his keys in his truck. Davis then responds “Well the first thing you need to remember about breaking into your truck, is that your passenger side window is down.”
So Hank runs to the other side of his truck opens the door leans in and gets his keys, despite the seat being one long seat, he goes back to the driver side to unlock it.

True story… I had a service call one night. A driver locked his keys in the truck. I drove 42 miles to find the window down….
Slowly, he turned... about 1 year ago
At least he’s not sitting in the car, crying that he’s locked in.

I hadn’t noticed Mensans have any less common sense than the rest of humanity, but then that’s not really a high bar.
