Brutus, why on Earth would you play golf with a self absorbed sociopath who constantly insults you?? If I had a boss like that, I wouldn’t even play TIDDLYWINKS with him!!
Ha ha ha. Sounds like a golfer kidding another golfer. It’s a guy thing in sports. Trash talk. However, the Chief will go out golfing with Brutus just like he always does during the season……
Sorry Chip, great art but i had to ggl the libretto:
Short game: “the phase of golf in which accuracy of direction and control of limited distance (as in approach play or putting) are factors of first importance.”
There very many commenters that should really be working on their commenting short game…
For those that don’t understand the allure of golf, it is a tremendous challenge… to begin with, the scoring is opposite any other game, whereas the lowest score wins. There are so many rules, they are hard to keep track of (IF you play tournaments), but, the swing, the grip, the timing, all of them, together, are what make the biggest impact. Even a very slight, and unnoticeable change in the grip, can send the ball into an unrecoverable slice (to the right), or hook (left), out of bounds, into water, or just mere feet down the fairway.Infuriating? Yes, and getting angry also contributes to a bad swing, and game.I do not keep score, so the only one I have to beat, is myself, IF I care to. Otherwise, I love being out in the wide, open spaces, seeing occasional wildlife (other than the random drunk players), and believe it, or not, the constant twisting, turning, and bending, does, indeed, provide a wealth of exercise. Now, I will take my ball, and go home.

I stick to putt putt now. 50 bucks for an hour’s fun for four. Can’t even think of paying membership fees around the local clubs here.

I don’t even know what “short game” means. Golf’s not my game. Not even for watching.

Golf makes no sense. Hit a ball, curse, hit it again, curse, knock it into a small hole. Repeat 17 times.

Being long off the tee isn’t always so great especially if you have a bad hook or slice. They can result in some long walks in the wrong direction.
