    I already knew that Black Bart was the name of both a pirate and a stagecoach robber. The pirate was Black Bart Roberts. He turned pirate after being captured by pirates and he became the most successful pirate of his generation before being killed in 1722. The wild west stagecoach robber was Black Bart Bowles and he reformed after serving time in prison and died in 1889.
