The BBC reports that school buildings have been closed because [of] potentially dangerous RAAC [reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete] that has been found. We have an £11.4 billion backlog of repairs and remedial work required and the chickens have come home to roost over this neglect of school buildings.
Little strokes fell big oaks. Constant dripping wears away the rock. Permanent nagging ruins even a school building’s bricks – Sally’s on her way again!
I commend our current comics creators and writers who seem to have seized the opportunity to use the medium to make readers think a bit about the assault of modern behaviors upon our institutions. It seems there are no ‘sacred cows’ anymore, and the scourge that is modern society attacks indiscriminately and continually degrades our cultural experience and identity. We now live in an environment where the inmates are running the asylum. I feel more like E.T. than human, and I too want to go “Home”. God bless the cartoonists, the conscience of our culture.

Pretty soon the new building will figure why the old collapsed and will want to do it, too.

Most of us can probably name somebody they know who has vandalized a school, but can you name anybody who has ‘plundered’ a school?
“Man, that school blackboard and chalk would look terrific in my new living room! By George, I think I will go plunder it!”

If this school building is in a city, it’s missing some “Building Art” provided by your local Graffiti artiste.

You are home. Don’t worry, you will be left alone for 16 hours a day during school, and for three months in the summer.
