This is probably an unconnected trivia observation, but could this here be a rare instance when Charlie Brown can actually be seen to have SUCCESSFULLY kicked a football?
I made the same type conclusion as Patty when I was seven or so. I ordered what looked like a radio from Allied Radio that needed a battery. It cost just $1. The $20 radio seemed to not need a battery. What I got, from a great big box, was a 9v battery. But, what the box also had was a catalogue of the electronic products of Allied Radio. That catalogue set me on the path to exploring the world of electronics. I was fascinated.
Yesssssss this arc. One of my personal faviorites. It’s sums up Peppermint Patty so well that this would happen and the conclusion is hilariously bonkers.

Charlie Brown could tell her, but she wouldn’t listen anyway.

Sure!! You and the “funny-looking kid with a big nose” can become study buddies.
PS: I just learned that PP and I share a birthday, which is just around the corner.

I think one of the cartoons on television adapted this arc with some modifications. The ending was different, if I recall.
