Getting the correct fit takes a bit.

Fitbit makes the cheesiest straps that are difficult to attach and are designed to come loose so you can lose the device.

They also make a unique charger for every device, so you can’t keep the old one as a spare in case you lose the new one. They hired designers from the Rube-Goldberg School of Engineering to make the chargers. There is no reason a charger should have moving parts that can break.

So far my score with them is 1 lost and 2 replaced within the warrantee period.

Fitbit claims that my device is waterproof and good to under 50 meters of water.

If I am under 50 feet of water, I have much bigger problems than having my watch stop working. However, I have worn it in my pool which is nowhere near 50 meters in depth. It stopped working a week later.

Fitbit doesn’t do anything I can’t do for myself. I walk the distance, check the time. Slower than last time? Pick it up. Right on time? Step out a bit faster next time to improve condition. Doesn’t cost a cent.
