Never make a loud noise at a cat that’s stalking the squirrel you’re befriending. That squirrel didn’t see the cat and will give you what-for in no uncertain terms.

I find that they are always on the other side of the tree.

At our house, they’re lined up. Molly the Lab is just a few days away from her 10th birthday and has gone from chasing them to escorting them off the property. Rabbits still get the full treatment, though.

There are other fish in the sea, other squirrels in the tree.

Squirrels keep eating my landlord’s heirloom tomatoes. He’s retired, but grows and sells the tomatoes on the side, so he set out cage traps for the squirrels. So far, he’s captured 15 this Summer.

Seems like I’m the only one here who actually likes squirrels. I put out bread and apple peel all year and it’s appreciated by squirrels and rabbits. (City dweller)

A few years ago, early spring (still snow around), I looked out the window and couldn’t believe what I saw ……. There was my one eyed cat sitting on the rail looking toward the garage and about a foot behind her was this big gray squirrel sitting there ……. I’m sure the cat had no idea the squirrel was behind her ……….. but the squirrel “DID” know the cat was there ………….. but apparently not all that concerned ………. :)

Sometimes I have to magnify things on the computer to see the details. I thought the squirrel might be hiding against the trunk of the tree, so I turned on the magnifier. I didn’t find a squirrel, Mr Bliss, but I found incredible detail on your tree. Your artwork is always amazing; that it is even moreso under magnification speaks to its quality. Thank you!

The squirrels in my neighborhood love to try to tease my beagle, but she totally ignores them as if they weren’t even a few inches from her. I suspect her early hunting training has something to do with that. One can run right in front of us and she will not pay it any attention at all. She is squirrel blind and I am grateful for that.

Man, I love his tree renderings. Way back in my youth I had to learn how to do architectural renderings, and tree species were a real challenge for me. Bliss is very good at this. This one may be a very mature water birch that originally grew among other trees (tall, no lower branches, only one extra trunk).
