My dad down in the bilge cursing and trying to fix the engine is what I primarily remember about boat ownership. Boat engines seem to be specifically made to never work.
That can be bypassed. Not a great idea if there are possible contaminants in the fuel tank, but if not or you can keep the intake high enough it can get you back to harbor. Or, drift and see what happens!
