Wouldn’t it be called Squash and not tennis if you are hitting the ball AGAINST the mailbox? In tennis you would have to hit the ball OVER the mailbox to score points.
It’s a good place to start. In 9th grade, decided to shed my nerd image and learn to play basketball. An old book on the basics gave me a good foundation. (But I’m still grinning at Chapter 6: Master the set shot!)
A friend tried to teach me tennis by hitting the ball against the school gym wall, it was 2 stories tall. Three balls on the roof later he decided I was hopeless and I agreed.

Nothing beats good sports training better than a good wall. Unless you’re a gymnast, then you need a mat.

The second optional panel was omitted. In the original, the letter informs Snoopy that the school is “very pleased” with his progress:

The school is either very effective, or they are encouraging him to continue with his lessons (so he can continue sending money).
