Listen children to my scary story. It is a dark and spooky Halloween night when the GREAT GRAPE comes to visit all those who truly believe!

Who knew Woodstock had such an evil look on his face (see next to last panel)?

This inspired a year later in 1977 a Peanuts Halloween arc where Marcie thinks the Great Grape is coming.

Maybe Woodstock should use a gooseberry or an orange cherry tomato.

I bought a snoopy/woodstock perpetual calendar. I had hubby hang it by my bed and on bedbound days it really cheers me up :)

I learned recently that grapes are poisonous to dogs.

What’s even more impressive is how Woodstock manages to put a candle inside it

Someone who isn’t wise to the way the Peanuts universe works could walk by, see a grape with a smile in a bird’s nest and feel unsettled by it. Maybe. Probably not.

At least Linus won’t bother him this year.

I read recently that the Irish originally made jack-o’-lanterns out of turnips. Why not a grape?

Especially a grape with a smiley face …… at least put a couple of “FANGS” on it ….. Woodstock ……… :)

It might scare a microbiologist because they are kind of small.

Does anyone else remember Goofy Grape, one of the flavors of the Funny Face drink mixes marketed by Pillsbury back in the 60s and 70s. They came in flavors like Rootin’ Tootin’ Raspberry, Choo Choo Cherry, Jolly Olly Orange, etc, with each flavor corresponding to a cartoon character on the package. Goofy Grape wore a green hat, had a significant overbite, and (as his name suggests) a goofy expression on his face.

Ummmm… the California Raisins?

Don’t be so sure Snoopy.Many a strong man has been brought down, by a “Touch of the Grape”.
